World class gym equipment – this is the legacy I want to leave behind!
I have been in the gym for over 30 years now. The goals have changed throughout the years. In high school the focus was functional strength for sports, in college I focused on powerlifting, when my children were young and my schedule was strict, I concentrated on muscular endurance and cardiovascular fitness, and now my attention is in bodybuilding. There is one constant over all of these years – I would think to myself ‘why has no one designed equipment for this exercise’ – and with a few years, that very piece of equipment would come out on the market.
Prior to starting Steel Beast Fitness I had a 20 year career in manufacturing, predominantly in Aerospace, and in the last three years, CFO of a medical component manufacturing that specialized in forming specialized metal. I have had a lot of experience in that time with understanding manufacturing of metal alloys. My father is a machinist, and as a child, I had gotten early hands on experience fabrication and milling. I took a gap year before college and in that time earned a welding certificate.
I had been contemplating to venture into the design and manufacturing of gym equipment as early as 2020. There was considerable planning and research that I had performed. The CFO role came up and was too hard to pass up, and so gym equipment went on the back burner; however, I never gave up the idea completely. This period enabled me to further develop and vet out my ideas. I’m now ready to take on the challenge in 2024. I have the vision, the plan, and the capabilities to make this great.
This is the legacy I want to leave behind.
